FAQ

Common questions

How should I prepare or sort carbide scrap?

Keep carbide separate from steel, high-speed steel, and other metals. If you can, group it by type: solid round tools (end mills and drills), inserts, brazed carbide, and road picks. It doesn't need to be cleaned. A clear photo of the bin, drum, or pallet is usually enough to get started.

What is tungsten carbide soft scrap?

Soft scrap is the tungsten-bearing byproduct of grinding carbide: grinding sludge (wet or dry swarf) and used grinding filters that have captured carbide particles. Its value depends on how much tungsten it contains, which usually has to be confirmed by testing a sample.

How do you help me get the best rate?

Send us the quote you already have (or just tell us the rate), along with photos and an approximate weight. We review the material and current market conditions, tell you whether the rate looks competitive, and help you work toward a better one where there's room.

What information should I send for a quote?

Photos, the type of material, an approximate weight, its condition (worn, broken, brazed, coated, or wet or dry for sludge), the city and state where it's located, and any quote you've already received.

Is there a minimum amount?

No minimums. Call, text, or send a photo of what you have, and we'll help you get the best rate.

Do you post prices?

No. Rates move with the tungsten market and depend on the material, so we don't publish prices. Call, text, or email for a quote.

Do you only work in Indiana?

No. We're based in Southern Indiana and work with businesses in all 50 states.
